CZ Shadow 2 base pads add capacity, speed, and durability to your magazines—and they’re shaped to seat positively with or without a magwell.

Which type do I need?

• No magwell → choose base pads for standard frames.
• With magwell → choose magwell-compatible base pads (relieved/tapered to clear the funnel).

Capacity & seating

Model-dependent extensions typically add +1 to +8 rounds and give a larger surface to seat on a closed slide. For larger gains, a stronger or longer spring is often recommended.

Materials

• Aluminum: light, rigid, many colors; balanced for range and EDC.
• Polymer: light, tough, discreet; least added weight.
• Brass: heaviest; helps mags drop free and steadies the gun in competition.

Retention

• Tool-less latch/pin: quick strip for cleaning.
• Set-screw: ultra-secure; use non-permanent threadlocker and don’t over-tighten.

Stay within your division’s magazine length limits (e.g., IPSC/USPSA). Check the current rulebook for your setup.

Select by the exact magazine body and caliber (Shadow-pattern double-stack 9×19 vs .40, OEM vs aftermarket) to ensure proper lock-up, capacity, and drop-free performance.
